Mega Garchomp Z Tailwind Hyper Offense

Tailwind

Hyper Offense. Mega Garchomp Z is the main mega, with a Mega Staraptor mode. My apologies for skipping my typical goofy name this time, I couldn’t think of a good one. If the rental code does not work, try replacing the zero with an O, I’m not 100% sure which is correct. Sets: Most people run Draco Meteor Mega Garchomp Z with a mixed attacker, but I don’t like that so it’s pure special with dragon pulse. Flamethrower and Earth Power for coverage and Golisopod. Note: Due to STAB, I believe base form Earth Power does more than the mega Earth Power, although I am not sure, and this is just based on what I remember from testing. Farigiraf is the anti trick room/anti salamence/anti psychic terrain Colbur Berry for dark type, hyper voice because STAB and mega salamence likes it so imprison. Imprison because imprison, trick room so it gets blocked, and expanding force because it’s only a slight downgrade from Psychic (if P terrain isn’t up) and I want it blocked. Standard Mega Staraptor Standard Staraptor paired Whimsicott, our tailwind setter. EVd to live Mega Staraptor Dual Wingbeat Standard Basculegion, but with Ice Fang for Mega Salamence and standard Garchomp. Pretty standard Gholdengo. Leads: Whimsicott Garchomp Whimsicott Staraptor Farigiraf Basculegion (for Salamence, Trick Room, Psychic Terrain) Tips: Don’t bring Farig unless it is there to counter something, it is designed to not be totally useless once it’s used Imprison, but other team members are better unless it’s disrupting. Garchomp Z does not usually need Tailwind, but it is often outsped by base 150s due to them having max speed. Make It Rain does barely anything once it’s at -2, so Nasty Plot either before or after. Whimsicott is not invested in Special Attack or Speed, so it does not hit very hard, and it is slower than you might expect from a standard Whimsicott. However, it is very bulky, and you will be surprised by the things it can take before going down. Ice Fang will not do much into Mega Garchomp Z so beware about using it there, as adaptability Wave Crash will do more due to the Mystic Water. Edit: Garchomp Z now has flamethrower to help with the Mega Golisopod matchup, however Power Gem is also a good choice.
