Tailwind HO With Base Raichu

Regulation M-C · Doubles · Error404 · 31 Oct 2026

TailwindSunTrick Room

A Tailwind Hyper-Offensive team featuring the duo of Mega Charizard Y and Mega Staraptor, both of which pair well with Base Raichu.

1. Raichu is here to power up Mega Staraptor using Charm, or even lower opponents Attack with it! It also has Fake Tears to provide special damage reduction for Mega Staraptor and a damage amp for Mega Charizard Y. In addition, it has Lightning Rod to protect both Megas from Electric type moves and Mega Raichu Y.

2. Mega Charizard Y synergises well with Raichu, as it appreciates Lightning Rod to protect it , Fake Tears for extra damage, Fake Out for a free turn and Charm for damage reduction. Charizard's EV spread allows it to live non-Life Orb Garchomp Rock Slide and Ancient Power from opposing Charizard Y, and with Helping Hand from Farigraf, it can OHKO opposing Charizard Y with Ancient Power.

3. Mega Staraptor is this team's secondary Mega. Raichu's Charm allows it to double it's Attack stat, and Close Combat increases its bulk. Fake Out from Raichu also allows it to buy a free turn to set Tailwind or stack Close Combat defense boosts. It also becomes nearly unkillable with Fake Tears from Raichu or Charm on opposing Physical Attackers, and has Tailwind for speed control.

4. Choice Scarf Garchomp can spam Earthquake next to both of the Megas, and it helps KO Electric Types such as Mega Raichu Y that threaten Charizard Y and Staraptor. It's EV spread allows it to always KO non-bulky Mega Garchomp Z.

5. Chople Berry Kingambit acts as a clean-up Pokemon and an Anti-Trick Room Pokemon. It's Defiant Ability helps against Incineroar, who would otherwise matchup well into the team. Because of it's slow speed, it can work under Farigiraf's Trick Room or in opposing Trick Room. But under Tailwind, Kingambit can circumvent that. It's EV spread allows it to live a Low Kick from opposing Adamant Kingambit and a Close Combat from Adamant Sneasler after eating it's Chople Berry, while maintaining enough Attack investment to still dish out strong damage.

6. Farigiraf finishes out the team by giving it a Trick Room mode, giving the team a way to reverse Trick Room, and giving the team an edge against opposing Trick Room teams. It's ability to block priority moves keeps the team safe and Imprison shuts down opposing Trick Room teams, and Psychic and Hyper Voice make sure that you can't just ignore it.
