MSceptile MTytar Wolfe Team | Reg LOU

Regulation M-C · Doubles · theiappi95 · 15 Oct 2026

SandPsychic

Wolfe Glick (Wolfey) brought this Mega Sceptile team to the 2027 Louisville Regional and finished 66th with an 8-4 record in Pokémon Champions Regulation M-C. Before the event he took the same six to Champion tier on the ladder, finishing Season M-6 in 173rd place.

Mega Sceptile has Lightning Rod, and Choice Scarf Rotom-Heat is faster than it. Rotom clicks Discharge, hits both opponents and gives Sceptile a Special Attack boost in the same turn. Tyranitar is the second mega and sets the sand, which doubles Excadrill's speed through Sand Rush.

Indeedee holds the team together. Psychic Terrain stops priority moves like Fake Out and Grassy Glide, and it triggers Sneasler's Psychic Seed, so Unburden doubles its speed. Follow Me and Helping Hand cover the attackers, and Rocky Helmet adds chip damage that can put opponents in range.

Sceptile does not always mega evolve. Overgrow Energy Ball already hits hard, base Sceptile is still very fast, and holding the mega keeps Mega Tyranitar open. Do not mega evolve Sceptile on a turn where Rotom uses Volt Switch, because Lightning Rod would absorb it.

Sneasler runs Throat Chop for Basculegion, which normally sits safely in front of Sneasler because it resists both of its STAB moves. Rotom carries Overheat for Rillaboom and Gholdengo, and Trick to pass the Choice Scarf to a partner.

Garchomp is the biggest threat, so take it out early, usually with Dragon Pulse. Against Charizard with Choice Scarf Garchomp, bring Sceptile, Rotom, Tyranitar and Indeedee, and use Volt Switch to bring Tyranitar in mid turn and win the weather. Against teams without Intimidate, lead Tyranitar and Excadrill with Indeedee and Sneasler in the back. Late in the game, Helping Hand Close Combat from Sneasler takes out targets that survive a normal Close Combat.

Golisopod is one of the hardest matchups. At Louisville, a Mega Golisopod rain team beat Wolfey 2-0 in round 6 of Swiss.

The sets match his official team list from Louisville, and the spreads come from his own replica code. The replica code is 220LXTWPFS and it imports the team straight into Champions.
